Charles Putsch is a 45 year-old resident of Perrysburg, Ohio where he lives with his wife Taylor and two daughters. He is best known by his childhood nickname “Casey” which later became the online persona “Casey the Car Guy”. Young “Casey” grew up working the family business, Seneca Hills Golf Course with his great love of classic cars and racing. As a lifelong Ohio native, Casey pursued his upper education at The Ohio State University and graduated with a BFA focusing on Product Design.

Genius Garage
Casey formed the 501(c)3 educational charity, Genius Garage, in 2013. He has personally dedicated over 11,000 volunteer hours over the last 13 years mentoring and building racing cars and airplanes with young adults. This has led to high-level job placement for the students in businesses ranging from Lockheed Martin to Tesla, Ford, GM, and many other prominent companies.
The Journey
Having become frustrated with finding positive exposure for his charity, Casey set out on a mission in 2019 to figure out the media. He soon found traction as a personality on the up-and-coming automotive YouTube channel, VINWiki, and dedicated effort to his own automotive channel, now known as Casey the Car Guy. Casey quickly realized the landscape was changing from traditional media to social media and was able to create relationships to successfully pair the two. In 2021, Casey Putsch videos were viewed more worldwide than the entirety of the IndyCar series, including the Indy 500. This insight and traction allowed Casey to create his own media exposure for business endeavors and help support his Genius Garage educational charity and its students.
Witnessing the recent cultural and economic decline in the United States left him deeply disillusioned. That frustration ultimately turned his attention toward politics. Casey had spent over a decade teaching young adults practical engineering to help them get jobs, created a 100+MPG recyclable car concept, and worked to be a positive role model in the caustic world of social media. In 2025, his newfound disgust turned to action when he announced his candidacy for Governor of Ohio against Vivek Ramaswamy. Having Casey run in the Republican primary gave Ohioans another choice and honest voice, despite of the odds.

Family Life
Now with two young daughters, Casey dedicates his professional time to media consulting and watchmaking where he builds high-end automatic and manual-wind watches for clients in his home workshop. With a deep love for cars, Casey also maintains his social media channels, enjoys special car builds and motorcycles, and participates in amateur race driving when he is able. Otherwise, you might find him gardening with his family or sailboat racing with friends.
